SPEAKER_05But then I went to Australia and I'm like, nah.
SPEAKER_03The boy one's cool. I like the way he talks once.
SPEAKER_05All right, well, let's get it started. Who's this person?
SPEAKER_08Catherine. Me. Thank you for joining us. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01Thank you.
SPEAKER_08That's the end. Put the music on, okay. Welcome back to your favorite grooming podcast, another grooming podcast. I'm Kat Grainy.
SPEAKER_05I'm Nathan Austin.
SPEAKER_08I'm Katie Austin.
SPEAKER_05I'm Juan Rivera.
SPEAKER_03And I'm Ronnie Rivera.
SPEAKER_01Yay! I'm so dysfunctional though.
SPEAKER_04I was nervous that Ronnie wasn't gonna and it.
SPEAKER_02And it and it. Well, that was the last episode. I was nervous he wasn't gonna jump in in the middle.
SPEAKER_05It's also their favorite podcast.
SPEAKER_02What'd I say?
SPEAKER_05Grooming podcast.
SPEAKER_02I said their favorite grooming podcast. It's just their favorite podcast all the way around.
SPEAKER_06We're better than the prime ones, too. We're even better. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02We're the best. No. Um anyway.
SPEAKER_08Anyways. So uh today we're gonna start off with something a little different. Uh Nathan found this game. What is it called? Popping Panic. It's on the phone. Oh popping panic. I have no idea. But Nathan saw it and he said, I have to buy it. He's convinced he's gonna win.
SPEAKER_04So yeah, once we watch it in action, I'm sure you'll see why it is.
SPEAKER_05So it's a game since people can't. Not everybody can see it.
SPEAKER_02Although videos on everything now. So Spotify, Apple, YouTube, like it's everywhere. So watch it. So it's at least this segment.
SPEAKER_05It's a head-to-head game where you have to put your heads together now. You have to pump up and down this pump that is in your hand to pop a balloon in the other person's face.
SPEAKER_08This is a cylindrical pump.
SPEAKER_02So I'm gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna rapid fire some questions.
SPEAKER_05Are we gonna start right now? So we have to say who you who does who starts.
SPEAKER_02Yes, I know. Well, so maybe you guys should ro shambeau to see who goes first.
SPEAKER_05Just once. Just once.
SPEAKER_03Why do you say ro shambo? It's rock, paper, scissors. Let's do that again. I don't know. I like ro shambeau. Yeah. I love rock, paper, scissors.
SPEAKER_02You guys are really bad at this.
SPEAKER_03So it's one, two, three, shoot.
SPEAKER_02One, two, three, shoot. One, two, three.
SPEAKER_03Go. There you go. All right.
SPEAKER_02So Kat's gonna pump first, and Nathan will answer the questions. Okay, so it's not like a no, it's not a jerk off. Oh, okay. Um then uh Nathan made it sound like that.
SPEAKER_04So it could be so Kat's gonna be pumping while Nathan speaks.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Okay, explain that. Katie read the instructions. So I'm gonna ask a question. So, like for instance. Speaking of the top of the mic. Sorry. I'm going to ask a question. So for instance, I might ask, name me two dog breeds that start with a Z, and then you're gonna have to come up with those zero Zamboni. Uh so then you're gonna have to rapid fire two. I picked Z because I don't think there are no but um Zero. Then you'll have to rapid fire those while Kat's pumping, and if she breaks your balloon, you lose. Um and then I'll rapid fire a question to her while you pump her balloon.
SPEAKER_05Okay, yeah. If I lose it this, it's good. I'm sorry, man.
SPEAKER_08Okay, so we just keep going until they answer, right?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yes. Two answers, right? How many do you have to get correct? Two.
SPEAKER_08It's it I'll say it.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so wait, who's pumping first?
SPEAKER_05You're pumping first.
SPEAKER_02You're pumping answering. Okay.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_05When do we start? When do we start?
SPEAKER_02As soon as the question's done. Once I ask the first question, I start pumping. Then she can start pumping. Okay, ready. Okay, Nathan, name two double-coated breeds.
SPEAKER_05Husky and German Shepherd.
SPEAKER_02Okay, cat, name two AKC groups. Sporting and non-porting. Okay.
SPEAKER_03This balloon is so much bigger.
SPEAKER_02All right. Um, hold on, I gotta move this. Nathan, name two terriers under 25 pounds.
SPEAKER_05Uh, Lakey and a um uh schnauzer. Miniature schnauzer. Okay, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_02Uh cat, name two rare AKC breeds.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Uh okay, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_02That was hard.
SPEAKER_01That was a much harder question.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I would assume like endangered. Okay. Or it could have just been stuff you never see, or that was pretty funny. Okay.
SPEAKER_04You should put a new balloon so it's not all stretched out.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Okay, is that your lucky balloon?
SPEAKER_05What colors do you guys want?
SPEAKER_02I don't care.
SPEAKER_04This game's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_02Ridiculously fun. Oh my god. I feel like I'm gonna be really bad at this. Like my brain is just gonna go blank.
SPEAKER_08Well, you know, the first time I I was afraid to hit this and whack myself in the face. So cat, I have- I was afraid too, my first time.
SPEAKER_02There's like many You're like, what's happening? There's many different like categories, and they're all name two, name two, name two. Okay. So I just like randomly, random grabbed them. All right, Nathan's refilling. We'll go again. This time it'll be Juan and Katie. We'll see if the if the if the K names can pull off a point or not. Maybe the boys are gonna be able to do that. The boys are gonna nominate.
SPEAKER_01I think the boys are gonna nominate. So then we'll have to go head to head.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Are you ready? So if we so if we pump it, then you can just go like this.
SPEAKER_04Oh, okay, okay. I like how mine's already standing here.
SPEAKER_02Mine's flappy. Oh, we gotta uh let's see who goes first. One, two, three, shoot. One, two, three, shoot. Ah, one goes first. So I pump first. You pump and I answer.
SPEAKER_05You have to get it in there so you can. Okay, okay. Yeah, you have to hold it good.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05Nice and five.
SPEAKER_08All right, cat, when you're ready. Okay. Name two dog names you hear every week.
SPEAKER_02Luna and Bella.
SPEAKER_08Okay. Name two dog breeds most likely to scream.
SPEAKER_04Sheepa and pug. Katie's going break.
SPEAKER_08Okay, name two sight hounds. Uh Borzoy and uh with it. Name two scent hounds. Uh bloodhound and beagle. What the fuck? Um, name two dog breeds commonly groomed in lamb trims.
SPEAKER_02Uh poodle and a uh bishon. I don't know.
SPEAKER_08I guess.
SPEAKER_02Is that a lamb trim? I mean, it's got longer legs and it's water loading.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. That one's stupid. Hold on. Look how red I am.
SPEAKER_04That one's too easy. This is so funny. So stressful. I pump or I say I say no.
SPEAKER_07I'm pumping. Name two water breeds.
SPEAKER_04Poodle and Irish Water Scott.
SPEAKER_07What the fuck?
SPEAKER_05You gotta work for it, babe. Damn.
SPEAKER_07Look at how big this is.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it is.
SPEAKER_07Name two white dog breeds. Uh Poodle on the tongue! What? Name two black dog breeds. Poodle and black lab.
SPEAKER_08Um name. Sorry, I'm trying to. I'm pumping now, right? I'm pumping. Okay.
SPEAKER_07Name two dog breeds that end in Shepherd.
SPEAKER_02German Shepherd, I'll try and Shepherd.
unknownI went so fast.
SPEAKER_07I feel like I just want to break it. Okay, the winners should go against each other, though. Yeah. So the thing on the side is the release for the air.
SPEAKER_04Oh, okay. I wanted to tie it.
SPEAKER_07Juan won.
SPEAKER_03I won.
SPEAKER_07That was fucking close.
SPEAKER_01Yours.
SPEAKER_03Do you think it was because you guys were playing with yours beforehand? Maybe. Because you guys you guys were pumping yours and theirs were full of things. But I was so fast.
SPEAKER_04But that would have just stretched them out, making them looser. Still get bigger, right?
SPEAKER_03I know, but maybe they got bigger faster too. But no, I'm just saying, maybe they got bigger faster since they already stretched out. No pre-pump.
SPEAKER_05No pre-pump. No pre-pump. No fluffing.
SPEAKER_08Maybe you take you take Katie's seat and go. Katie won't do the things.
SPEAKER_02You guys are gonna have to roll Shambeau.
SPEAKER_08Okay, you guys, if you aren't watching this, you have to.
SPEAKER_02It is so funny. Like, who's gonna be the winner for this episode? The wiener. It's hard.
SPEAKER_04You gotta spit on it first. And then does that just go this way or this way? Like this.
SPEAKER_02Slip it in. You got it. Good job.
SPEAKER_05You have to put the ring on. Be gentle. You gotta the protection. You gotta put the f ring. Keep it. Okay. Okay. Maybe bleep it. Okay. Alright.
SPEAKER_02You guys have a rope? You gotta row shambeau to see who goes first.
SPEAKER_01Hold on. Okay, ready?
SPEAKER_04Rock, paper, scissors, shoot. Okay.
SPEAKER_01You're answering the question. Okay. Okay. Um your hands are so beefy to get. I'm doing this, right?
SPEAKER_04Okay, let's go. Fist pump. Got it.
SPEAKER_01Am I doing this first? No.
SPEAKER_02No, Juan is answering for pump. Yes, you're pumping your answer. Wait. You're pumped. I won, so I pump. Yeah, so he's pumping your answering.
SPEAKER_04Okay, the winner pump. I speak. I speak. I speak. Okay, go.
SPEAKER_02Okay, Juan. Name two breeds with docked tails traditionally.
SPEAKER_04Corky and Minnie Schnauzer.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Nathan.
SPEAKER_01Name two uh brachiocephalic breeds. Pug and uh oh my god.
SPEAKER_05A pug and a uh French eating. What? Oh my god. Oh my god. Wait, put your oh you put your arm behind it, no?
SPEAKER_02Okay, okay, okay. Um one.
SPEAKER_07You got a baby name.
SPEAKER_02Two breeds known for drooling. Saint Bernard and Oh uh premature, baby.
SPEAKER_01Premature. But it was like that one.
SPEAKER_03That's one of those. Ours was so long. It was crazy. Look how big yours is, babe. I know.
SPEAKER_01Pop it, pop it. See, look, oh my god, my technology.
SPEAKER_05It's fucking scary.
SPEAKER_01That was fun. That was a good one. Good job.
SPEAKER_05Good job, everybody. Good job, Nathan.
unknownGood episode contact. Thanks, babe.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that was fun. That was that's a good that's a good one. I hope you guys like that. Let us know if you enjoyed it or not. I hope that you guys were like yelling out breeds alongside us or like different, you know. It's I mean, if you have like good name two of these, send it in. And we'll do yours.
SPEAKER_03Also, comment, comment what you guys were thinking in the comments below. Also, what were your first thoughts about like brachycephalic or the drooly breed?
SPEAKER_02I I could not when Nathan was like, I don't know. I was like, dude. Nathan looked over and he's like, what? That was me and the rare breed. I was like, I'm panicking. I was like, would they consider this rare? I don't know. I thought Kat would have done like uh I thought that was a good one for you because you know so many breeds. I do, but like I just doubted myself.
SPEAKER_05Because you think there's gonna be you're gonna get busted on. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Busted. I knew Nathan was gonna win the game just because of what the game is.
SPEAKER_05Actually, I think you had more pumps. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Although to be fair, uh when you said corgis, I was like on the fence because did they go Pembroke Pembroke and Cardigan? So I was on, but I let it, I was like, nah, I just let them go.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I would have said corgis and skipper keys. Also. No, I think you guys, it was what gets miniature traditionally.
SPEAKER_01Is Doberman one of them?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, traditionally.
SPEAKER_03So it's like dogs that do get docked traditionally that are not naturally docked.
SPEAKER_05Rot where there's Doberman.
SPEAKER_03I was like Doberman.
SPEAKER_02French varieties technically poodles, carries, there's lots of them. But that's why I was like, ah, yeah. Anyway, that was a good one. That was a good one. That was a lot of fun. That was a really exciting.
SPEAKER_04Oh, since okay, to clean up this mess, I actually bought something at Costco that I wanted to show everybody. Stop doing that.
SPEAKER_05Okay, Katie. What the heck are you doing over there? Never. Never.
SPEAKER_00I would never. This is the only time I'll do that.
SPEAKER_04Wait, hold on, hold on. I was at Costco and this is $40. It's an electric air duster.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_04I see them online all the time, but so I bought I've been wanting one forever. I bought it because it works really well to like dust off the hair like on the blades or like in your shear screw or whatever. Look at this.
SPEAKER_08Wow. Let me try, let me try. Let me try. I have one, but I use it to dry Lumi's face at dog shows. Because if he drinks, then I am How much did you pay for it?
SPEAKER_04Aren't they normally really expensive or no?
SPEAKER_08No, I think I only paid like 30 bucks for mine. No, this thing is. I want one. That one's probably more powerful. I just bought a cheapy one. And you take off the fan one.
SPEAKER_04There's a condenser cone on it. And then the other side sucks up. So there's a little vacuum attachment to the other side. So you can like vacuum a little bit.
SPEAKER_03And then tell them about the there's a flashlight and the and there's a flashlight on it.
SPEAKER_04Keep your station clean. Yeah, so you say keep your station clean, get the hair all your tools, and you can. There's a flashlight at the bottom, and you can charge your phone with it technically.
SPEAKER_08Technically. Okay, that one's fancier than mine. Mine just blows there.
SPEAKER_04But anyway, $40 at Costco. I loved it. And look at no balloons. That's where I'm state. Babe, let's go to Costco. No, we have to vacuum, but it's off the table.
SPEAKER_05Let's go to Costco. Let's grab a chicken bake. Walk around.
SPEAKER_04I love chicken bakes.
SPEAKER_05Do you see people 3D print um like holsters?
SPEAKER_04Oh, I thought I thought they sell them at Costco.
SPEAKER_05They have holster, they basically like print out a tray that attaches to the cart to hold your glizzy and your drink.
SPEAKER_02I missed the Polish dog. Good use. Good use of uh the 3D printer, honestly. He's looking him up right now.
SPEAKER_05Uh anyway, so I'm still amped up from the game. I know. It was great. I know. My like I my heart's beating, dude.
SPEAKER_01I think we should do it every episode. It was a lot of fun.
SPEAKER_02It was.
SPEAKER_05Look, this one is a tray that also holds your phone.
SPEAKER_07Uh and your drink.
SPEAKER_05You guys want one? I'll print one right now.
SPEAKER_07I always I always get mine after.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I was about to say. I've done it before.
SPEAKER_05No. No, but I would if I had a tray built into my cart. Imagine the looks you would get if you come in with a red fucking Costco cart accessory.
SPEAKER_08They're like, where did you get that? You're like, you can buy Hammer from here.
SPEAKER_05That's why you have a couple of them in your bag. You're like, oh, you want one? 20 bucks. Right? Yeah, I guess.
SPEAKER_08You get kicked out of Costco and banned from membership revoked. Okay, so next we're going to.
SPEAKER_04You have to say what a breed is first.
SPEAKER_08Oh, okay. I'm sorry. Today we're going to learn about the Lakeland Terrier. So it's time to learn that breed. Yay. So Katie is going to read us about the Lakeland Terrier, also known as a lakey. All right.
SPEAKER_02This is one of the oldest terriers developed by farmers to hunt and control vermin around the lake district of Cumberland, England. It shares an ancestry with the Dandy Didmont, Bedlington, and Border Terrier. Efforts to promote the Lakeland as a recognized breed began in 1912, but did not gain momentum until after World War I. The breed's name was chosen by a group of fanciers in 1921, and the breed began entering British dog shows in 1928. The breed has never been overly popular as a pet in America, though many dogs have stood out in the U.S. show rings. This is a balanced, squarely built, long-legged terrier with a slightly arched neck, a short level back, and a high-set dog tail that is carried up and slightly curved. The head is rectangular with a flat skull and a strong straight muzzle that is approximately equal to the length of the skull. The nose is black and the eyes are oval-shaped and moderately small, producing an alert, intense, determined expression. The small V-shaped ears are folded over just above the top of the skull. I think this one is super interesting because they seem like a newer breed. And like I feel like we haven't read one similar to this, and they just like picked the name, Lakeland.
SPEAKER_05Like I actually really like Lakey's. I like Lakey's a lot.
SPEAKER_02I like them a lot too.
SPEAKER_05I think they're so cute.
SPEAKER_02I like the fall.
SPEAKER_05I have one that comes in. Like he's a little psycho, right? He comes in, he immediately comes running in super fast and he jumps all over you. He loves being at the salon, he loves jumping all jumping and playing with all the dogs. It's just like a play date for him. And so he's super docile. I mean, he's his energy is really high, but he's not aggressive. He's just really like wants to play with everybody. I don't know if they're all like that, but this one in particular, he's just so good. You do his nails though, he's freaking crazy. But when he's done, there's a select of dogs that we let just like stay in the groom room with us and like play with our dogs. And him, as soon as I put him down, he just bolts straight to our dogs and starts jumping all over them all crazy. I love him.
SPEAKER_02He loves it, yeah. He's gonna be a dog. And they have one dog.
SPEAKER_05They have won Westminster twice.
SPEAKER_04Oh I've actually never groomed a lakey.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, they're fun, they're a fun green. They're a double. Speaking of that, they're a double crowned champion too. Uh won best and show at the 1967 Crufts and then went to best uh best and show at Westminster the very next year.
SPEAKER_04His name was Stingray. So these double crownings is that winners of like major shows or just like multiple?
SPEAKER_05I think it's only the certain ones. Okay. Like Westminster Crufts and the the National Dog Show. But I think people also count Westminster Montgomery, but for terrier. That's a terrier on the show. Quadruple crown.
SPEAKER_02The thing is, is that's a terrier only. Montgomery Day is only terrier.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So um they were originally developed to hunt foxes that were killing English farmers' sheep. So that's super cool.
SPEAKER_05You know, though, a lakey is like humans are so interesting because we bred these things. I mean, foxes can be bigger than that, can around the same size. And you breed these dogs that are just so much better at being killers.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I'm on their on the Lakey Club of America website and they have a the breed standard like super, super detailed with like all the different faults and like what's correct, what's incorrect, and like what to look for. It's super I'll maybe I'll link it in the description. That looks really super thorough.
SPEAKER_02That yeah, that looks super similar to the um wire scotty one.
SPEAKER_08The why the lot of the Terriers have very, very specific.
SPEAKER_05Are you on their club? I'm on their club, yeah. You know what you need to do.
SPEAKER_08Can you order it or is it LTC.org.
SPEAKER_02Can you order that one or can you print it?
SPEAKER_08Say last time that you have been doing for the breeds is uh where they are ranking on popularity.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_08Miss that um but so uh fast cat. The first dog, the fastest uh Lakey is a champion. So he is uh she is a champion. How fast, Lakey?
SPEAKER_04Lakey 14.3.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Um I'm gonna go with uh 18.
SPEAKER_0520. They're fast little guys.
SPEAKER_08Sorry, I press it, trying to hide it from you. Uh it's 24.38. Damn. We already played off. And that's a champion. She's a champion. And the second one is 23.53. So in popular fast. Yes.
SPEAKER_05In popularity, out of 205 dogs of 205 breeds, they're number 157.
SPEAKER_02Okay. What was the carry out of curiosity since we accidentally skipped it?
SPEAKER_05Let me see.
SPEAKER_08So there is a they are a breed I'd like to own. I'm just not fond of stripping flat work. I do really like them. I would I would potentially own one. I think they're so cute. And I like their size. They're like the perfect little size. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Oh, so they have been fluctuating a lot, the number of registered dogs recently. They fluctuated pretty heavily from like for the carry.
SPEAKER_08This is the carry blue.
SPEAKER_05Right now they're sitting at 155 for the carry blue. But there was a big fluctuation in between 23 and now.
SPEAKER_08I know they were pretty steady and then again.
SPEAKER_05Around 2023, it went up a good amount and then went down. Like back to where it's steadily around two around 150, they've been hovering around.
SPEAKER_04So I only ever seen them in like the red color. But they come in a variety of colors. They come in blue, black, liver, red, and wheaton. Yeah. In saddle mark dogs, the saddle covers the back now. Well, just the saddle, the nor normal coloring. But that's crazy. I I only thought they came in like the one and then like red and like red and like nine.
SPEAKER_08Well the de Devon competes with uh blues.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Oh that's right. She does.
SPEAKER_04She does. She does.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I think the blue and the black is super interesting. Um I like the really pretty and with the saddle, that's my favorite. Yeah. Or the like the red. Red. Yeah. This also says uh Lord, this is historical. Lord Lonsdale, the first president of the Lakeland Terrier Association, apparently had a Lakeland Terrier who pursued who pursued an otter into a 23-foot burrow under solid rock. It took three days to rescue the dog from the burrow. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_05Well, did he get it?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. An otter, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_08So I like this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, dogs. I mean, he was out there for three days. What was he doing?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. Hopefully he got it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08So uh it says, unlike fox hounds that were carried on horseback until the moment of the hunt, Lakelands were bred to run alongside the hounds over rough and rocky uh mountains on all four feet. So they weren't, they're like, we got this. That's why they're so fast.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Keep up with the horses. There's another uh fun fact. A Lakeland Terrier named Waffle that lives in Newton Abbott, England, has a collection of more than a thousand balls that she started accumulating as a puppy. Some of the balls are almost as big as she is, and she howls whenever her owner tries to get rid of any of them.
SPEAKER_05So what do you mean though?
SPEAKER_02Like Waffle's owner ended up using her terrier's collecting habit as a way of raising money for charity.
SPEAKER_05So where is this dog getting these balls from? Isn't the owner buying them? Bro, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Probably, and people are gifting them, maybe. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05She just like spawns a thousand balls out of the yard.
SPEAKER_02It's pretty funny.
SPEAKER_04I only got two.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Damn.
SPEAKER_02I mean, four if you count Ronnie's. Yeah. That's true. Anyway. Anyway. I I do like them. They're a very fun dog. They are, again, very terriery, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But they're smaller.
SPEAKER_05They're good boys, though.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I love them.
SPEAKER_04I like them too. Ronnie and I toy with the idea. I feel like we toy with the idea of getting a lot of breeds, but this is like one of they're like higher on the list for sure. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05There's the one we got in our salon, like not ours, but the he, if you met him, you'd be like, oh, I want one. He's just so. He's fun. He's just a really fun dog.
SPEAKER_08The other two that we have come in are just kind of they're older, so they're like stoic and like meh.
SPEAKER_04Meh.

SPEAKER_07I was waiting for everybody else. Okay.
SPEAKER_08So it's now it's time for confirmation information. So we went over points and all that stuff. So now and what you do to prepare before you get to the show. But this is gonna be what you do when you arrive at the show. So I personally like to arrive at least one hour before my ring time. So about a week before um the show, they send out a judging program. Well, they don't send it out, they they email it. They email it to you. So they old school they used to send you like a printed email.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Um, but now I maybe I select go green, so they just email it to me. Um, or I just tend to check infodog. It's just easier for me. Um and that'll tell you what ring you're gonna be in. It'll also tell you how many dogs are before you, how many dogs that are like entered, and it'll also tell you what time. So I like to arrive an hour before my ring time, so I have enough time to find my ring, pick up my number, get my dog prepped and ready to go in the ring.
SPEAKER_05Kind of like the airport. Yeah. Yeah. Just gotta make sure the ring exists before you can do anything else.
SPEAKER_08You got to go check it out, look at it.
SPEAKER_05I just uh what I do is I just go, Katie, where are we going? What time do we need to be there? And she just tells me all the information. Get a Katie.
SPEAKER_04Get a Katie, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Katie, what's happening today? She's like, oh, we're going to a dog show. I'm like, okay.
SPEAKER_00What time do we have to be there? What time do we have to leave?
SPEAKER_08How long do I have?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I'll I'll put a screenshot of what the program looks like so people can get an idiom. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08So it'll tell you, and then don't count on how many dogs are before you I make sure I'm there an hour before the printed time. So say it's 11, but I have 15 dogs ahead of me. I don't really count those 15 dogs. I'm there at 10.
SPEAKER_05But it never starts early, right? It'll never start early. The time is.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it'll start at the time.
SPEAKER_05So does it even matter the dogs in front of you or anything like that? The ring time is ring time, right?
SPEAKER_02Because well, it depends. So, like, say you're staying at the show grounds. Sometimes you'll have like, or if you have a grooming area in a different area, sometimes, especially if you have a lot of dogs, you're prepping dogs, you're getting everybody ready, and then like maybe you'll have somebody run and go and check and see where they are.
SPEAKER_05Just to give you more time until you have to be there.
SPEAKER_02Right. Well, like Kat said, right? Like sometimes there's 15 dogs ahead of you. You can't always count on every dog coming. But if every dog of those 15 dogs come, they generally count two minutes per dog for the judge to feel over the dog and it to do its down and back and around, right?
SPEAKER_05I feel like this is informational for people that have like hell like are super busy.
SPEAKER_08I don't think so. No, because some people count that and when they're, you know, as far as prep time, do I have an extra minute to do this thing? Right.
SPEAKER_02So if you have your ring time is 10 and there's 15 before you and you assume like, okay, I think I'm gonna start around 10:30, obviously you're still preparing for the chance that no dogs show up and you're gonna end up in the ring at 10.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, new person should just be there regardless.
SPEAKER_02But if you're not prepping in that room and you're prepping elsewhere, some you know what I mean? Like say you're there with your mentor and you know what I mean, like there are variables, you know. So a lot of times we'll like run in and check, you know, like okay, Scotties are in, or not Scotties for me, that would be bad. Uh schnauzers are in. So, you know, like we've got one breed ahead of, you know what I mean? And so we just kind of pay attention to those things.
SPEAKER_08So well, and if you have boys ahead of you and you have girls, or you know, like there's just a lot of or you have your best to breed, and you there's a like 10 ahead of you.
SPEAKER_02There's a lot of variables to when you could start.
SPEAKER_04So, like what we mean by how many dogs ahead of you when you're looking at the program. So I'm just I have like ring four in front of me right now, and I'll put it up on the screen. So it says ring four, 10 o'clock. At the 10 o'clock, under the 10 o'clock thing, there's five bull terriers, uh 14 miniature bulls. So, and then one to this, one of this. So they're all listed under just the 10 o'clock. That's what we mean by how many dogs are ahead of you.
SPEAKER_02And they go in that order that they've been printed. So if your dog is your breed is first on the list, then you guys are right in right at 10 o'clock. Be there. They don't wait for you.
SPEAKER_08They will call for you, and if you're not there, you're marked as absent. Yeah. So um, but also something I like to do if I am ahead of time and my dog's prepped and ready to go, it's just sitting there on the table waiting. Um, I'm ringside. I like to watch my judges because every judge has their own kind of ring procedure that they like to do. Do they like the dog to freeze stack at a certain point? Do they like or do they prefer just watching movement more? Are they sending this group around more than once? You know, just so I'm prepared. Um, some have the table at a different angle. Some at Nationals, we were totally surprised that the judge made us stack backwards on the table. So instead of her being on the one side, like her being in the center of the ring, and you stack the dog on the table facing you know, to the right with his head to the right, uh, she wanted us to stack on the other side of the table and she was in the corner. It was really weird.
SPEAKER_02Um or like we talked about before, sometimes you just do this straight down and back. Some of them want a triangle, some of them want a T. I mean the T is super rare, but it happened.
SPEAKER_08So in watching, and then also I like to see what what do you think this judge is looking for? Does do they care if the dog's a little more wild? Do they care if the dog is more, you know, prestigious and looking good, you know, kind of thing? Or is it okay if they're a little happy if it's a puppy, right? Um, are they watching, do they look like they're watching for movement more? Or how thorough are their exams? Are they heavy-handed on the exams? Which means because sometimes if you have a more shy dog and the judge is real handsy, you know, am I gonna need better treats or you know, stuff like that. Prepare my dog a little more. I just like to prepare myself. It also makes me feel a little better that I know what's going on, kind of. Um, so sometimes I'll show up even early if I'm the first one at my time block, right? To watch the dogs before. Um, so it's just some stuff to prepare you. I personally like my dogs can be picky, so I like a variety of treats in my pocket, ready to go. If they're more of a toy dog, I bring a small toy. Um, but another thing we had to talk about is picking up your numbers. Um, do you want to talk about that? Just so it's not all me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So generally, you know, we talked about getting to the show, getting your dog prepped, find your ring, right? Sometimes that can be confusing. Um, so definitely check shows. Check your pamphlet because certain breeds are outside, certain breeds are inside, sometimes everybody's inside. It just depends, right? So, like sometimes they'll list on the program, like all sporting dogs are outside except for cocker spaniels or you know, different things like that. Um, so when you get there, you have to find your rings. Sometimes it's more obvious than others. Well, like Wolf Sock, it's a huge show.
SPEAKER_08They have like 35 rings or something like that.
SPEAKER_02And it's a huge like vocation, yeah. So, like getting there with enough time to find if you've never been to that place before to find your ring can take a while.
SPEAKER_08Well, I had been to the fairgrounds that used to have it at in Vallejo before, and I couldn't find my ring one year. Like I had to call one of my like, where is it? It was in a sheep barn that was all the way in the back. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_02So far. And I was so confused. There is normally like generally one main building where they will have a superintendent's desk, and the superintendent can help you with whatever you need. Yeah, they can help you find your ring, they can help you, you know, if you need to like move classes, or we can get into that another day. But um, the superintendent can help you. But um, when you get to your ring, um, there is usually a steward. So the steward is not the judge, but they are the person that is um gonna get you your number. They're the ones that will call for you, you know, will call your group when it's time. They'll mark down in their books, you know, who placed, who didn't place, et cetera, et cetera, right? They're the the peacekeeper, record keeper. If your dog potties in the ring, they're gonna come help you clean, et cetera. Um, so you'll ask that person for your number. So your number correlates with your dog's name. I, the very first time I made the mistake of trying to tell them what my dog's name was, they don't want to know what your dog's name is. They just want to know the number. So they'll open up their pamphlet for you. You tell them what breed, they'll flip to the proper breed page. You'll look and say, I need number 22 or whatever. And then they'll find it and they'll give it to you. And then they generally have a stack of rubber bands and you'll put it on your left arm. That way you can be identified, but they don't know who your breeder is by your kennel name or any of the other things about you know that might give away who you are, right? Because they're supposed to be unbiased. So you don't want them to know, they just want to look at the dog.
SPEAKER_05And then you just like stand there and wait your turn, right?
SPEAKER_08Well, they will call your name out when it's your class, they'll say, Oh, it's six to nine. No, I'm sorry. They'll call your number. Thank you. Uh they'll call your number and they'll say, Oh, this is six to nine month bitches, number five or whatever, you know. We need five, eleven, twenty, whatever. Yeah, and then you'll line up in correspondence with that. Um, so you know, if you were five, you're first, you know, and then but actually five wouldn't be a bitch, because yeah, five uh even numbers are bitches and odd numbers are males. And they don't go in together until the very end for winners, if they're unless they're champions, then they'll go in altogether. But the males always go first and the bitches always go second, followed by breed winners. So for breed, it goes male specials, bitch specials, um, winner's dog, winner's bitch. And if there's veterans, then they'll go afterwards.
SPEAKER_05So you you show up early, you you said an hour early. I think that's good, right? Yeah. Show up an hour early.
SPEAKER_02Or more if you need to prep your dog.
SPEAKER_05Or if you want to clear. Ask the ring steward for your number that you have to know.
SPEAKER_08After you find your number ring.
SPEAKER_05And then you just line up in the order that they say and then is going when they say. Yep.
SPEAKER_04It's a lot of hurry up and wait.
SPEAKER_08Hurry up and wait. Yep. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05So you said it is it's never early, but can the ring time ever start late?
SPEAKER_08Yes. Yes. If it's a significant amount they uh amount, they will uh announce it.
SPEAKER_05What's a significant amount?
SPEAKER_08Well, it depends.
SPEAKER_02Like if the show's delayed an hour, or if the judge is stuck in another ring or so it's never early.
SPEAKER_05That's most likely. It should never be early, but it could sometimes be late.
SPEAKER_08It can sometimes be late. So, but it's always wise. Yeah. So, but like I've sat for groups waiting for judges that are in another group. Yeah. You know, so you normally it happens more so in groups, but sometimes there are issues. I've had a judge who passed out of the show and they had to scramble to find it, it was really hot, and um, they had to scramble to find another judge. So sometimes you have to wait, but most of the time, just be there early. Either at least on time. Yeah. One time I was late and I missed my ring time because Ellie, she was young and she like threw got car sick and threw up all of herself, and I had to stop and I like ran to the ring, and I was like a minute too late. Summer. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I have done that before, not the growing up, but like almost missed a ring time. I was like running with my thankfully it was the English cocker, and he was just like, okay, and just ran with me to the ring the whole way.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And then one time I did miss, I we missed the Scotty ring entirely. This is somewhat of a funny story. I went with my mentor Danica to a specialty. Yeah. And we drove all the way up to Washington. And um, I didn't think anything of it because they were driving. And uh, you know, we wake up the next morning, we drove like super late into the night, only had a couple of hours of sleep, got up, prepped our dogs, drive to the venue, nobody's there. And we're like, what the heck? And so she calls another Scotty person and they're like, What do you mean? We changed venues. And sh like she just assumed because it's always been at the same venue, that it was at the same venue, and it was like an hour away. And like obviously there was no way. Like we tried. We like all, you know, hopped in the car, tried to drive all, you know, but it was too late. Yeah. So that was I mean, shit, that was crazy.
SPEAKER_08You never you never get a refund if you don't come or anything. The only way you could ever get a refund after the judging program is printed is if there is a judge change. That is the only way. Yeah. But otherwise, you basically you don't show up, that money's theirs.
SPEAKER_02You know, that's but the time and you still have to be there. Like you can't just not show up and then there'd be a judge change and send an email and be like, I'd like my money. Like, you still have to have been there and been like, oh no, I don't want to show to this judge. Usually you do it beforehand.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So interesting.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. So be on time, be ready with your dog, watch, pick up your number, watch your judges, watch your judge ahead of time.
SPEAKER_02You just you never have fun. Remember to breathe. You never know what you'll pick up. You know what I mean? Like watching other people. I've picked up so many tips and tricks watching other people in the ring and watching how the judge is judging.
SPEAKER_08You know, even as a groomer, even if you're not interested in showing dogs, go watch people, go watch shows. You can see a lot in the dog's movement. I mean, some of the grooms aren't great, yeah. So it doesn't really it's not about the groom. It's not about the groom, but watching the dog's haircut in action in the ring, also watching people stacking your dog. They're, you know, you just learn a lot. It's also just nice to see dogs look pretty they're supposed to look. It's nice to see pretty dogs.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's my favorite part. I mean, I will say dog shows are kind of boring.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, they can be, especially to my daughter.
SPEAKER_04But I do enjoy seeing all the beautiful dogs. Yeah. That's my favorite part for sure.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_08I love dog shows. I just like sitting there and I like it. Yeah. The atmosphere and just being around people who enjoy their dogs and seeing all the pretty dogs walk around.
SPEAKER_02There's nothing like uh staying at a dog show and waking up in the morning and the hustle and bustle of everybody getting ready for. Everybody's up at 6 a.m. pottying their dogs, prepping their dogs, getting ready. Like, I I enjoy it.
SPEAKER_08So we're about to go to San Diego and I'm taking Ashley. Like, I mean, she's been to dog shows, but she's like, we're gonna stay in an RV on the thing, and yeah, every at 6 a.m., everyone starts all the dogs you can hear are being let out. They're all barking and crazy, and but then you don't feel bad because your dog is barking and being crazy. Yeah, and you're blow drying at 6 a.m., you know? So it's gonna be a good time. It's gonna be like a camping trip for the girls, too. It's at Bait Nuts Farm. They have like a little petting zoo and everything, so it'll be a good time.

SPEAKER_04Yes. So last last week we kind of started talking, we were gonna talk about a specific comment, and then we were like, let's wait, let's wait. So we're we're talking about it this week.
SPEAKER_02So Nathan put out a video recently. Anyway, it was like we were just joking about when you get to leave a little bit early and one of your coworkers is still left there, right? Which is like something that happens to everybody from time to time. And like obviously just a joke, but a um pet owner commented, I feel better knowing that it's okay to cancel because I booked three appointments with three groomers for the same time and canceled two on the day just to make sure my dog gets groomed on my schedule, which was like so wild. And at first, Nathan was like, that has to be a bot. And then, like, the more we looked at her page, I was like, this is not a bot, dude. This is like for real.
SPEAKER_05First off, though, the lady's picture is an AI picture of her with a lion. So we're already off, we're already running. And uh so one of the comments, Anna Annalie, how do I say her name?
SPEAKER_02Uh Analy.
SPEAKER_05Analy?
SPEAKER_02Oh, who's McNally? Anna Lee.
SPEAKER_05Anna Lee, she's uh she's an influencer. She put Anna Lee writes, I screw over two groomer wages every time I make an appointment.
SPEAKER_04It's just kind of and then she said, please don't.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02So I mean, there was obviously, like we said, there's like 50 some comments of people that are like, this is not cool. Like, and I I assume that the way that she like responds to people, number one, I assume one time some groomer canceled on her last minute, and it's like things happen in human. Like we're people too, you know. Um, but yeah, booking three appointments and then canceling two of them is crazy. Um, I definitely it's it's gone slightly viral because I know people have been sharing it and like they've looked to see where she lives and they've posted it in like her local groomer groups. Like, don't take this woman. She's Oh, really?
SPEAKER_04Yes, okay.
SPEAKER_02Side note anyway, yeah. Is like we did respond just kindly and I just like educated her on like we do charge no show fees, um, you know, so like if we don't get a 24-hour notice, we would be charging you and like please don't, you know, like this video is just a joke. We're not giving people permission to not show up because we like leaving early. I would much rather groom a dog in my last time slot and make money than to leave early. Is it nice every once in a while? If it happens, it happens. And it's a nice day outside and it's a nice day. It's not raining or blooming. But like, I'm not encouraging people actively to do that to screw me over. And uh don't do that to your groomers.
SPEAKER_08Also, for the record, on that day, Katie and Nathan were leaving later than they normally do. And I work longer shifts, so it was just a normal day for us. Yeah, it was literally a joke.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was after closing. Kat works 10-hour shifts, so she works a longer shift than everybody else, and we yeah, we had worked a full day. So actually, in fact, I don't even think I worked in that salon that day. No, you didn't. I worked either on mobile or in the other salon and came after my shift to make content with Nathan.
SPEAKER_05A lot of people take the videos we make literally, so serious. Yeah, and we're like I mean, not a lot of people, there's a select few.
SPEAKER_02I'm like, no, I I literally just show up after work, yeah, and make content with Nathan on days we don't work together. So anyway. That was crazy. That one that one was wild, especially. I mean, if you're if you want to go read all the drama, like Nathan said, there's like 56 comments back to this woman. She does argue back and forth here and there, but she just sounds unhinged.
SPEAKER_05So but if you're getting roasted online, I would usually just like delete it, you know what I mean, or something like that. Like you just don't, she's like, all right, let's do this. At first, I was like, she's definitely a robot, but not a robot.
SPEAKER_03The lady is it's definitely digging herself a bigger hole.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02All right, Juan, you got one for us? I have one.
SPEAKER_03You also did want to piggyback off that. So a long time ago when I worked at I know it's been so long now. When I worked at Banfield, we all shared systems, right? So people would do that. I would find people calling, making appointments, and then I would see that they have other appointments in the area. And it's like we're a hospital, dude. You know what I mean? Like we need appointments available. So, like, oh, I don't know if I'm when I'm getting off. So I had multiple, because I because I would call them and be like, hello, I see you have multiple appointments in the area. Which one did you want to keep? And they're like, I don't know which one. I'm like, well, ma'am, I will keep your appointment at my one or I will delete it. Oh, it's like you have to call me back. I'm like, you only can keep one for these locations, you're taking up appointments from other people, and then it's uh I would be the person that goes around and calling all the hospitals. I'm like, I'm canceling this one.
SPEAKER_04Ronnie enjoying being an asshole?
SPEAKER_03Wow, imagine, but I opened up for the other pets. No, no, no. But I yeah, that's you know what I mean? It's like it's like if I noticed multiple areas, and I'm like, you have to choose. I'm so sorry, you're taking appointments from other people, and that was a big thing, you know. Obviously, when I worked at a corporation, is appointments and things. It's like, well, if they don't come in, we don't get paid.
SPEAKER_02So yeah. That's if I notice somebody's booked another appointment for their dog in my salon and that they already have an appointment, I will message and be like, hey, you have two appointments, so which one are you coming to? And then they're like, Oh, oops. So, but I don't always notice, you know, because I don't approve every single appointment. Sometimes other people approve them. So Okay.
SPEAKER_04When we talked about mobile grooming, the whole segment felt kind of like we were talking shit about mobile groomers. So this this cuss, uh, this we definitely weren't. We weren't, we weren't. This comment is from Kayla on Spotify and she says, Mobile groomer for 10 years here in Texas. I've never worked in a shop. I went on my own in February 2023 and have five vans now. I absolutely love mobile and couldn't imagine it any other way. It would be neat to have someone else to talk to at work and help if needed, but I still love it. Nothing strange or creepy has ever happened, but we do lock the doors when we get to the house and have trackers on all the vans. Our clients are all ages and we see men and women all day, every day. So that's like a positive because we were saying, like, oh, well, if you women are uncomfortable, maybe, and like you have a lot, but she loves it. She has five vans. Yeah. And our intention was not to shit on mobile grooming.
SPEAKER_02I think, I mean, by and large, I think the people that do it really love it. You know, like I think there's a lot of positives for it for sure. Yeah, our intention was definitely not to shit on it, but I just think all of us aren't meant to be mobile groomers. So, you know, fair enough.
SPEAKER_08So to piggyback off that, this one is from our grooming at home segment. And uh she um this is from uh Megan more good for food good food. Megan, yes, I love good food. Um, as a woman, I am not scared at all to work from home, but maybe that is just because of my location. I have never had someone show up and knock on my door. I love being alone and being on my own and having my own space. I get to listen to podcasts all day long. LOL. Every one of my clients is amazing, and I appreciate them so much for respecting me. I don't think I'd ever work for a big hectic hectic salon again. So we were kind of also talking how it could be weird for that, but obviously.
SPEAKER_05Well, we have to cover all the bases, right? Yeah, it's not sunshine and rainbows for everybody. Yeah. But obviously, it's gonna be for some people.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, and same thing as I said for the mobile, right? By and large, the people are having good experiences, but there are always gonna be some people that take advantage and don't uh you know respect people's privacy or time or space, you know, like that's just the way it is. So, but I'm glad that most people have good positive experiences with it. That makes me happy. And I'm glad that it works for them.
SPEAKER_04This is a comment on her I will yelp you. And it's from Jackie. Awesome podcast, so funny and relatable. I'll definitely recommend four stars.
SPEAKER_01Dang it, Jackie. Okay, I am like it was just a comment.
SPEAKER_04She didn't really rate us four stars. Yeah, okay, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so I wasn't gonna ask. I'm like, you better reach out to us and change that to a five. I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_04Speaking of ratings, you guys should rate our podcast on Spotify, on Apple. You can recommend it on Facebook. Just show us some love, you know? YouTube, give us a thumbs up. If you like the video, subscribe, subscribe, subscribe. Subscribe if you haven't. Leave us a review. Yeah, do it all. Thank you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we appreciate it. Push it, push it.
SPEAKER_04Another comment. Oh my G cat, you look amazing.
SPEAKER_08Oh, thank you. Because we're gonna go camping next month. Someone had uh on confirmation information on YouTube. We must have been talking about camping. And they say get a camping bucket with biodegradable bags and kitty litter. It comes with a toilet seat, a lid, and doesn't smell because of the kitty litter. I was like, I was like, we will.
SPEAKER_05Where do you bring it? Is that where we're gonna bring it to the beach?
SPEAKER_08I don't know. We were talking about, yeah, how there's no bathroom at like the beach.
SPEAKER_04Or maybe we're talking now, we were probably talking about mobile, right?
SPEAKER_08And like oh, maybe yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like pot where would you potty like people potty in the tub or whatever? I think we were talking about that. Oh yeah. Maybe it's that.
SPEAKER_03That makes more sense. That does. I was like, we can just shit in the woods. Yucky Barry.
SPEAKER_05You're like outside of a store or restaurant, you're like throwing away a bag of your shit. Hey, but let me talk about it.
SPEAKER_03But the thing is, you never know what people are doing or throwing away, bro.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Oh god. Okay, this is uh keeping in a bag, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Always.
SPEAKER_02This is a comment from uh the let's let's talk. Let's talk about commission rates. Okay. I was like, wait, what was that? Um anyway, they said I'm an hourly groomer and I love it. I get paid if a dog no shows, I get paid to clean, I get paid to schedule dogs, etc. I'm in Pennsylvania and hourly is an optional, and I wish more places offered that over commission pay.
SPEAKER_05So babe, you're gonna get us canceled.
SPEAKER_02We already had a whole conversation on it, and I'm just reading a comment.
SPEAKER_05Hey, you guys seen that video where we're like we're all like twerking and then like throw mixing the mixing bottle video I put out, right? Shay commented, um, thanks for the educational video on mixing techniques. And I just thought that was a little funny.
SPEAKER_02I've been doing it wrong this whole time. Well, Shay also Jay Scrugs?
SPEAKER_03No, Shay. Oh, yeah. Jay Scrugs commenting on the twerking video. I don't see him doing that.
SPEAKER_08I hear I heard you say Jay, and I was like, uh speaking of Shay though, on YouTube, she said, I'm so excited for EDC groomer meetup.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah. I got really excited that someone commented that and then I was like, oh, it's Shay.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05I am I'm trying not to think about that. You know what I mean? Because I get I get too worked up about it.
SPEAKER_03So I'm just trying to what, going to EDC?
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_05Just going with everybody and like having everyone there at the campsite, and we're gonna like, I don't know, it's gonna be so fun.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Besides Cat.
SPEAKER_08Okay, well, uh Daydream Shelties. Um, she also they also like the tweaker geographic. So I'm not alone.
SPEAKER_06It's so funny.
SPEAKER_08I live in Vegas. They say I live in Vegas, so I get to see it in real life sometimes.
SPEAKER_03Vegas is crazy. I want to see real life stuff. I mean, not because it's sad for them, but yeah.
SPEAKER_02Somebody said I like the sound of balloons rubbing. Oh, just FYI. And they also said on what? And they also said I want to find some of the sauce to try. But I'm afraid of daddy's sauce. I'm afraid of Googling Daddy's brown sauce.
SPEAKER_05It's literally so uh there's been a lot of confusion about daddy's brown sauce. People think people were thinking that I was just saying that to my kids. Like, it's literally the name.
SPEAKER_02The name is literally daddy's sauce. You should go grab it. Have Owen bring it out. It's not like a brown sauce that he's just calling daddy's, like it's literally daddy's brown sauce.
SPEAKER_03One can put a picture. I put a picture in the episode, so watch the video. Okay, this is you miss out so much when you're only listening.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_08This is from way back on the Pasadena recap, but I just want to read it. Um, this is from Iris Chen. And it says, Kat, you look amazing, and Ronnie's first place was by far the way best in the ring. I was in awe. I also don't have any Scotties at my salon, but I attended the Scotty head class because I love you guys, and it was also because I want to get a Scotty of my own one day.
SPEAKER_02Well, when you're ready, let us know. Yep.
SPEAKER_06Yep.
SPEAKER_02That was very nice.
SPEAKER_06It was.
SPEAKER_02David Flores said farting on the podcast is crazy.
SPEAKER_05What? Press it, press it.
SPEAKER_04Doesn't in here too.
SPEAKER_03No. Oh, damn.
SPEAKER_05Okay, wait, hold on, where is it? Is that right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But no, but he does it IRL.
SPEAKER_02Okay, hey, but for anybody smell. For anybody who doesn't know, that fart is an actual Nathan fart that we have recorded and turned into a button.
SPEAKER_05All right, guys. I don't know. It's such the perfect why is it wet? Why is it wet? That's a clapper.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. There was a comment on the one of the my Yelp response video, and someone commented, uh, Cindy, it's called Yelp because it's for barking bitches. Didn't I hate I hate Yelp? It exists for negativity and displeasure. But I was like, that's funny. Yelp, barking bitches. That's funny.
SPEAKER_03We should also choose if we want our businesses on Yelp. Fuck that shit. I hate it that it's just you're on Yelp now. It's like, okay.
SPEAKER_08Oh, and they're like pay us a grand. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Oh, and if you want to get people to look at it that are good, uh, pay us money. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02We did have uh uh on another one of our recent videos that we put out, which is uh interesting. Okay, so for anybody listening, it was the video uh where we're mixing up our shampoo bottles in funny ways. And I really thought it was like a very like chill video that would not offend anybody, but apparently it was offensive to a couple quite offensive to a couple people. So we we did have a couple of very funny comments on that. Uh, because we did have somebody that said we were unprofessional and um what was the other word? Inappropriate, inappropriate and unprofessional or something like that. Uh and then there was like 20 or or so comments on it, like you must be new here.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, like I was like, I think like I don't want to be, I'm a nice guy, right? But then I think like, bitch, I don't who says I want to be professional? Yeah. I'm just a person doing the things, you know what I mean. I could also be profess I could be professional in one aspect and then go do dumb stuff online in another one. It doesn't mean like discounts my I don't know, you know, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02You are appropriate or professional. That's what it was.
SPEAKER_05I'm like appropriate, like you're on my Instagram.
SPEAKER_02Do you not know what we make here?
SPEAKER_04You said you're not a bad guy.
SPEAKER_02I thought you were gonna say 50.
SPEAKER_05You know, I got some dance.
SPEAKER_01That's what I was gonna say. I was gonna say it. But I just thought it was a bad guy.
SPEAKER_02I just thought it was so interesting because I like really didn't think it was like that offensive. Well, you're fully clothed. Well, yeah, no boobs, no butt guys.
SPEAKER_05From uh from um TikTok. From TikTok. TikTok literally just fucking blocked all the time.
SPEAKER_02I feel like TikTok is the most raunchy. Yeah, we were like, what?
SPEAKER_05Sometimes I'm on TikTok and it's just literal pornography. I'm like, what there's this? Obviously, I skip past it instantly because if you wait on it just for a second, but you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04Like, have you seen all the reflection videos? No, I've seen those every now and then.
SPEAKER_05Okay, I've seen those every now and then, but I'm like, dude, like I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Do girls do those too? Maybe he got a boy one. Oh, we always get the boy on.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, they do them too, but like then it's uh I don't know. I don't know. I have to try really hard to like keep my algorithms like on stuff I actually want on there.
SPEAKER_04You know what I mean? If you watch it, if you watch something too long, or if I watch something too long on accident, I'll physically press and put not interested. Yeah, that's it. That way it's like I watch too long, but I don't want so not interested. Yeah, so you should do that.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that's actually a good idea. I never thought about it. But I don't really use TikTok no more.
SPEAKER_08Okay, so well we should probably be wrapping this up soon, but this is uh one um that I want to read from Look, it's a bagel? From Look, it's Abigail. She says, merch, merch, merch, merch. Oh wow, should we talk about that?
SPEAKER_02As a reminder, we yeah, I mean, we are going to SuperZoo as a reminder for anybody who who maybe didn't tune into another episode. So we are gonna have a booth at Super Zoo and we have a surprise. We're going to have merch.
unknownWoo!
SPEAKER_02This is one example. It will be sold as of right now exclusively at Superzoo. So if you were debating on whether you should go to Super Zoo or not, and you've always wanted AGP merch, we will have shirts. We will have shirts at our booth. What else will we have?
SPEAKER_04We will have stickers, we will have AGP groom loops. Oops, we will have keychains. We will have keychains. And let's keep some secret. Yeah, there's other things.
SPEAKER_02There are some fun, other things. So we hope that you guys like it. We hope you show up. And we are gonna be at booth 1406. Right in the front. Yeah, right in the front. So we have a nice size booth. We're gonna be shooting content so you can see how we do our stuff. Maybe we'll, you know, have some fun things for people to participate in. Who knows? You know, games, maybe. Well, we got some games coming up. I tell you what, yeah, maybe we should bring this. This popping panic was a lot of fun. Yeah, so maybe we'll bring it up.
SPEAKER_05We'll definitely bring popping panic. I think that would be Nathan.
SPEAKER_02Wants to duel.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02We'll see if Nathan comes out the big wiener at the end.
SPEAKER_05Anyone that thinks they could beat me at Popping Panic. I'm sorry. Well, you could see me, okay?
SPEAKER_02We should just do just the just the popping without the questions. Yeah. So fast, rapid fire popping.
SPEAKER_08All right. Okay, so be there or be square.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Okay. Well, thank you so much for tuning in today, and we will catch you next time. Bye.
